Ventura Fest World-Class Cinema in California's Gold Coast

The Ventura Film Festival functions as an unrestricted genre international film festival that cultivates understanding of conservation issues such as forest and oceanic conservation and restoration, through a yearly film festival and related events. The festival leverages the impact of filmmaking to inspire action and generate significant discussion regarding these important ecological problems.

The Ventura Film Festival originated in 2004 and has exhibited numerous cinematic works, generally exceeding 200 films per summer season, and has generated excitement within the global film industry. Since its inception, the festival has expanded into a substantial cultural happening that assembles movie directors, ecological activists, and attendees from around the world.

Some of the highlights have been featuring distinguished filmmaker Dylan O'Neil, the inaugural world champion surfers Peter "PT" Townend and surf legend Ian Cairns, quadruple IN SOCAL world champion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/MMA athlete martial arts icon Fabio Leopoldo, and the 50-year anniversary of West Side Story, which encompassed presenting the complete Academy Award winning ensemble of West Side Story, featuring Oscar winner/Golden Globe winner George Chakiris along with Golden Globe winner/Oscar-nominated Russ Tamblyn. The Ventura Film Festival's founder and executive director was honored to take part, along with many of Hollywood's top stars, in the half-century commemoration of West Side Story and Hollywood's footprint/handprint ceremony for Academy Award champions Rita Moreno, George Chakiris, and Golden Globe honoree Russ Tamblyn at the legendary Chinese Theater in Hollywood. This ceremony also acted as the official BluRay introduction by Fox and MGM of the timeless West Side Story, which is generally recognized by critics and fans as the best musical of all time. This notable recognition and engagement exemplifies the festival's meaningful presence and esteemed status within the entertainment industry.
